    Awarded spectacles

    The awards of the 10th International Festival of Puppet Theatre
    and Animated Films for Adults "Puppet is a Human, too".

    As highlighted by our Jury, the performance during this year’s edition of the festival was outstandingly high, and it was very hard for the jury to decide which spectacle is the best one, as all of them had been given high ranking and notes. Thus, the international jury decided not to grant the Grand Prix award.

    The jury consisting of: Krystyna Żuchowska (president of the jury), Rachel McNally, Wieczysław Korniew and Bartłomiej Miernik decided to single out two artists. The commission awarded them with prize money, however, the two artists had been asked to devote the entire amount on their next spectacle. We find that they managed to create an interesting enough world captured on stage, that is why, we are eager to see their next achievements.

    • Hasam Abed for the spectacle: "The Smooth Life" – 1500 PLN
    • Yuri Divakov for the spectacle: "Dead and living figures" – 1500 PLN
    • An award for expressing the theatre with a Puppet – for stage design of the spectacle "The Cinnamon shops" – Cengiz Ózek – 2500 PLN
    • An award for expressing the theatre with a Puppet – for directing the spectacle "Love P and Passion B" – Monika Kováčová – 2500 PLN
    • An award for expressing the theatre by a Puppet – for creativity – for the makers of the spectacle "Count to One" – 6000 PLN
    • An award for expressing the theatre by a Puppet – for creativity – for the makers of the spectacle "Gobo, Digital Glossary" – 6000 PLN
    • The "Of Wonderful Moment" award for a beautiful moment in animation issued by the President of Impossible Theatre Union in the form of a bronze sculpture (a replica of the Noemi sculpture from the "Options of Life according to professor Leszek Kołakowski" spectacle, originally crafted by Ewald Kornek) was granted to Teatro Garcia de Resende for the animation, excluding the snake, in the spectacle "Bonecos de Santo Aleixo". This team was also granted with an honorary diploma of the Polish Centre of the International Association of Puppet Artists "POLUNIMA" (Polski Ośrodek Międzynarodowej Unii Artystów Lalkarzy "POLUNIMA")
    • The students of Knowledge of Theatre (Wiedza o Teatrze) faculty appreciated the scene depicting the growing of a child, granting the "A Hundread for the Point" award (100 Euros) to the theatre Yase Tamam from Iran
    • The audience of the Festival voted the "Silver Hoof" spectacle by the "Tut i Tam" theatre from Russia as the best one

    The theatregoers of our Festival also funded their own award called the award of "Wytrwałych Widzów" (the Award of an Enduring Audience), which was granted to Ulrike Quade Company & NBprojects Theatre from the Netherlands for the emotions expressed in the "Antigone" spectacle.
